Indie-punk from Darkest Kent
EVAN WILLIAMS is a charismatic 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Thanet, Kent signed to Peter Doherty’s Strap Originals label. Evan continues to win audiences with the skilfully controlled vulnerability of his intimate solo shows, and wows large venue crowds with the added punch of his full band, featuring Rocco Marche (The Paris Match) on guitar, Sahib Dhinsa (Nick Diver, Wez King) on bass and Albie Lucas (Human Interest) on drums.
Evan has supported artists including Peter Doherty, The Libertines and Hak Baker. With his band, Evan played Tim Peaks Diner at Kendal Calling in 2023 and in November 2024, he supported The Libertines at NX Newcastle and three nights at the Albert Hall in Manchester, including a stunning set with his full band.
DAMP MATCHES
With a unique mash-up of alt-rock, trash-hop and anthemic indie, Damp Matches’ sound would be as at home at a stadium concert as it is in a grimy small town mosh-pit. Big, punchy riffs and thunderous drum lines set the backdrop for front-woman Helena Lewis’ soaring vocals, complimented often by the hip-hop of bassist Will Calvert. Having built a reputation for putting on raucous, high-energy shows, they are definitely ones to watch on the UK rock circuit.
